Keeping Up Your Oral Health in Lockdown

It’s more difficult than ever to keep your teeth healthy given the current climate and the fact it is not easy to visit the dentist. If you are wondering how to keep your oral health up whilst in lockdown, here are some tips:

  • Stick to a routine. Make sure you still take care of the basics, like brushing at least twice a day with a good fluoride toothpaste, as this will ultimately maintain your oral health. If you have a good routine, you’re less likely to deviate from it.
  • Avoid sugary foods and drinks. While it’s harder to see a dentist, it’s more important to maintain tooth strength and gum health. Cut back on your sugary, unhealthy foods and drinks.
  • Look out for any changes in your teeth and mouth. If something seems to be an emergency, such as intense toothache, call the hospital or see if your dentist is still able to speak to you.
